We are a young and upcoming nursery located in the West Wales countryside at a 400ft exposed location.
Our trees are all field grown naturally with no chemical fertiliser, herbicide or chemical pest control, in a balanced landscape.
The health, resilience and future longevity of trees depend ultimately on the health of the soil, which we have worked hard to achieve over many years.
Our trees are regularly inspected by APHA (Animal and Plant Health Agency) and we are in the process of attaining organic status.
My own background is 33 years in the Arboriculture and Horticulture industry.
I was a landscape gardener for 15 years specialising in soft landscaping. I then studied Arboriculture and have been a qualified Arborist since 1998.
I am passionate about trees.
My interest in trees has given me an appreciation of the importance of trees grown in the UK with UK provenance and the advantages of trees that have been grown at their natural growth rate without artificial intervention. Trees are often sold with slow-release fertilisers to speed growth, which produces an unsustainable root system, and I was keen to avoid this.
Having experienced at first hand the disappointment of receiving trees that have been damaged by poor root excavation or formative pruning, or by inadequate root protection, I was keen to establish a delivery system that ensures your trees arrive in tip top condition.
All our bare root trees are lifted from the nursery field to order, between November and March dependent on weather. They are immediately wrapped in moisture retaining, recyclable and repurposable root bags and delivered to you by us or our one sole, trusted courier nationally.
